Modular Typeface
For this project, I designed a modular typeface by exploring both the technical and aesthetic qualities of modular lettering. I researched historical and contemporary approaches, and experimentied through analogue and digital processes. I developed a full A–Z alphabet and numbers 0–9, analysing the effectiveness of the final design as a communicative system.

Rather than constructing letters from repeated modules in the conventional way, I approached the brief through negative space: using simple geometric modules to carve letterforms out of a larger rectangular block. This created a cohesive, minimal system where the absence of form became the defining structure. The resulting typeface was then refined digitally and placed into contextual applications and mockups to demonstrate its usability and clarity in practice.
