Africa Fashion Designs
For this project, I designed a book jacket and accompanying posters using in colour theory and an exploratory approach to colour. Drawing inspiration from the Africa Fashion exhibition at the NGV, I sampled and reinterpreted its palettes, patterns, and textile motifs to create visuals emphasize this cultural expression.
The project focused on understanding how hue, contrast, saturation, and balance can create meaning within graphic design, and how colour can guide hierarchy and evoke emotional resonance. By integrating exhibition images and translated pattern structures, the final designs form a visual language that honours the source material while showcasing a contemporary, expressive approach to colour-driven design.
